Kana Converter
The distance between ひらひら and ヒラヒラ is one script. The distance between カタカナ and カタカナ is one setting. This tool closes both.
Output
How it works
- Paste or type Japanese into the input.
- Pick a direction: hiragana → katakana, katakana → hiragana, or half-width ↔ full-width.
- Copy the result. Long vowel marks and 促音 are left untouched on purpose.
Notes
- Nothing leaves your browser: the conversion happens in the page, not on a server.
- Only kana ranges are touched. Kanji, Latin letters, digits and punctuation pass through unchanged, which is what you want when a line mixes scripts.
- No dependencies. About forty lines of JavaScript, readable in one sitting.
